On August 31, 2024, a significant milestone was reached at Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) with the signing ceremony for the construction of four new buildings under the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) Project, funded by the World Bank through the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology. MUCE Hosts Prof. Angel Ford from the University of Albany

MUCE welcomed Prof. Angel Ford, a distinguished researcher from the University of Albany, USA. Prof. Ford, who is an academic staff member and Director of the Global Epistemic Justice Lab in the Department of Information Sciences and Technology at the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security, and Cybersecurity (CEHC), visited MUCE from 25 to 30 July 2024. Her visit aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration in research, exchange programmes, and joint courses between the two institutions.

Award-winning researcher Dr. Geofrey Wingi Sikazwe recognized for contributions to ecology

Dr. Geofrey Wingi Sikazwe, a lecturer at MUCE, has been awarded the International Environmental Scientists Award for Best Researcher in Mathematical Modelling in Ecology. The International Environmental Scientists Award is a premier global event in the realm of research, innovation, and collaboration, which aims to share ideas with a global community of researchers, scientists, and professionals passionate about advancing International Environmental Scientists.

MUCE Researchers Secure Erasmus Edu 2023 Consultancy Project

Four distinguished researchers from MUCE have won a prestigious consultancy project funded by Erasmus Edu 2023. The project, titled "Fostering Occupational Health and Safety Competences and Skills Growth for Sustainable Jobs in the Sub-Saharan African Region (FOCUS)," aims to enhance workplace safety and skill development in the region.

MUCE Staff Attend Pre-Supervision Seminar for Teaching Practice

In preparation for supervising students during their Teaching Practice (TP), MUCE staff participated in a pre-supervision seminar designed to equip them with essential knowledge and skills. The seminar, held on 25 July 2024, covered key topics, including TP regulations, the role of supervisors, lesson planning, supervisor ethics, assessment procedures, and accommodating students with special needs.

MUCE Secures Erasmus Mundus Funding and Signs Multiple Collaboration Agreements

MUCE, through the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, has successfully secured funding from Erasmus Mundus to implement an exchange programme for students and staff between MUCE and the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) in Poland. This programme will involve three (3) students and four (4) staff from MUCE, and two (2) staff from SGH.

Executive Assistants at MUCE Attend Professional Development Seminar

All MUCE executive assistants participated in the Management Development of Executive Assistants (MDEA) professional courses, a prerequisite for their promotions. This seminar, held from July 22 to August 9, 2024, aimed to enhance their skills and efficiency in their roles at the College.
