Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) is a distinguished multidisciplinary institution with a rich history dating back to its establishment in 2005 as a higher learning institution. The institution has three faculties and eight departments, providing a diverse range of academic offerings and expertise. At the heart of its commitment to inclusive education, it also houses a Special Needs Education Unit, dedicated to providing support and empowerment to individuals with special needs.

MUCE is a thriving community with 6,272 students and a dedicated staff of 403 individuals. Among of its dedicated team, 213 members are academic staff. As it continues to evolve and grow, MUCE remains steadfast in its mission to provide high-quality education, foster innovative research, and serve as a catalyst for positive change in the society.
