MUCE proudly celebrates a significant international milestone for its Principal, Prof. Method S. Semiono, who has been officially appointed as a Researcher at the Global Teacher Professional Development Institute for Africa at Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU), China. The appointment was made on 18th April 2026, and Prof. Semiono attended in person.

MUCE proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of three distinguished scholars whose contributions to research and academic leadership continue to elevate the College’s global standing.

Godlisten N. Shao from the Department of Chemistry has achieved an impressive 2,250 citations, underscoring his significant contributions to the field of chemistry and high-impact research. He also serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies, supporting academic quality and student success.

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) has strengthened its reputation as a leader in research and innovation following the grant of a national patent by the Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) for bamboo-based bioethanol technology. Developed at Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) of UDSM, the innovation—led by Dr. Jovine Kamuhabawa Emmanuel, Dr. Lewis Atugonza Mtashobya, and MSc student Mr.

Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) has received a donation of books for the University Library from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of Tanzania on 5 March 2026.

Today, 9 March 2026, the Principal of the College, Prof. Method S. Semiono, joined staff from the College Library in a brief ceremony to cut the ribbon, symbolising the official reception of the donated books.

Chuo Kishiriki cha Elimu cha Mkwawa kimesaini Mkataba wa Makubaliano (MoU) na Hospitali ya Benjamin Mkapa (BMH) kwa ajili ya utoaji wa huduma za matibabu ya haraka kwa wafanyakazi wa Chuo. Hafla ya utiaji saini wa mkataba huo imefanyika tarehe 13 Januari 2025.

Mkataba huo umesainiwa na Rasi wa Chuo, Profesa Method S. Semiono, na Profesa Abel Makubi, Mkurugenzi Mtendaji wa Hospitali ya Benjamin Mkapa.

We’re incredibly proud to recognize the outstanding work of the MUCE staff — Fikira, Juma, Frank, Selemani, Asha, and Benjamin — who played a key role in earning the 2025 Prize of Excellence in Semiochemical Research.

Through hands-on fieldwork and farmer engagement, the MUCE team helped bring semiochemical-based pest management solutions directly to smallholder maize and tomato farmers. Their efforts supported reduced reliance on harmful insecticides, improved crop protection, and promoted more sustainable, farmer-friendly agriculture.

MUCE Receives CRDB Bank Prize for Best Overall Student Ahead of 2025 Graduation

Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) is pleased to announce that we have received the official prize from CRDB Bank Plc that will be awarded to the Best Overall Student during the upcoming Graduation Ceremony scheduled for 26 November 2025 at MUCE.

Tarehe 13 Novemba 2025, Mkuu wa Mkoa wa Iringa, Mhe. Kheri James, amefanya ziara rasmi katika Chuo Kishiriki cha Elimu Mkwawa (MUCE) kujadili maandalizi ya Chuo kuelekea kufunguliwa kwa Vyuo Vikuu nchini tarehe 17 Novemba 2025.

Kupitia ushirikiano wa MUCE, TARI, Enviroenergies na WiN-TZ, watafiti wamezindua rasmi mradi wa ECSA-SATZ, unaolenga kuwawezesha wakulima wadogowadogo wa Manyoni (Singida) na Bahi (Dodoma) kukabiliana na athari za tabianchi kupitia kilimo himilivu.
