Appointment of MUCE Principal, Prof. Semiono

MUCE proudly celebrates a significant international milestone for its Principal, Prof. Method S. Semiono, who has been officially appointed as a Researcher at the Global Teacher Professional Development Institute for Africa at Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU), China. The appointment was made on 18th April 2026, and Prof. Semiono attended in person.

Godlisten N. Shao from the Department of Chemistry has achieved an impressive 2,250 citations, underscoring his significant contributions to the field of chemistry and high-impact research. He also serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies, supporting academic quality and student success.

MUCE Receives Book Donation for the College Library from the National Bureau of Statistics

Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) has received a donation of books for the University Library from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of Tanzania on 5 March 2026.

Today, 9 March 2026, the Principal of the College, Prof. Method S. Semiono, joined staff from the College Library in a brief ceremony to cut the ribbon, symbolising the official reception of the donated books.

Chuo Kishiriki cha Elimu cha Mkwawa kimesaini Mkataba wa Makubaliano (MoU) na Hospitali ya Benjamin Mkapa (BMH) kwa ajili ya utoaji wa huduma za matibabu ya haraka kwa wafanyakazi wa Chuo. Hafla ya utiaji saini wa mkataba huo imefanyika tarehe 13 Januari 2025.

Mkataba huo umesainiwa na Rasi wa Chuo, Profesa Method S. Semiono, na Profesa Abel Makubi, Mkurugenzi Mtendaji wa Hospitali ya Benjamin Mkapa.

Celebrating Excellence at MUCE

Weโ€™re incredibly proud to recognize the outstanding work of the MUCE staff โ€” Fikira, Juma, Frank, Selemani, Asha, and Benjamin โ€” who played a key role in earning the 2025 Prize of Excellence in Semiochemical Research.

Through hands-on fieldwork and farmer engagement, the MUCE team helped bring semiochemical-based pest management solutions directly to smallholder maize and tomato farmers. Their efforts supported reduced reliance on harmful insecticides, improved crop protection, and promoted more sustainable, farmer-friendly agriculture.
