Undergraduate programmes follow the Tanzania Commission for University (TCU) almanac, which varies each year. In general, applications usually open in July after form six results are released. Postgraduate degree
programmes have two application windows: June to July and October. The application portal is closed outside
these periods, so early or late applications are not possible. Check this link for updates.
Students admitted to the University of Dar es Salaam can transfer to another College within the university if the new College offers a similar degree programme. Transfers from other universities are also permitted if the student meets the university's transfer criteria and has the required credits. This involves a matrix check of courses between the current university and ours. Students must also provide reasons for the transfer. For more details, contact the Directorate of Undergraduate Studies.

Students must register to secure their place at the university. If unable to attend for the academic year, students must reapply as new students the following year. Registered students can postpone studies with valid reasons.
At the start of each course, lecturers provide an outline of the modules and expected outcomes. Detailed course outlines, including reading lists, are distributed to students, who are required to have them.
MUCE offers on-campus hostels with a capacity for 1,150 students. Those who do not secure on-campus accommodation can find affordable options off-campus. Learn more about student accommodation.
