Biography

Dr. Chacha Stephen Chacha (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Science at Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) within the Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics in Iringa, Tanzania. With a notable academic trajectory, he obtained his PhD in Mathematics from Pusan National University, South Korea. Dr. Chacha's commitment to academia, research, and the pursuit of knowledge is exemplified through his multifaceted contributions within the university.

As an accomplished educator and researcher, Dr. Chacha not only imparts knowledge to students but also engages in groundbreaking research endeavors. Additionally, he serves as the Acting Director of Postgraduate Studies at MUCE, underscoring his commitment to fostering academic excellence beyond the classroom.

Dr. Chacha's research focuses on Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Diseases, Numerical Methods, Nonlinear Matrix Equations, and Optimization (Scheduling) and Mathematics Education making substantial contributions to mathematical analysis and nonlinear equations with broad applications across diverse domains.

Research Projects: Dr. Chacha actively engages in a multitude of research initiatives, wielding influence as both a Principal Investigator and an Assistant Consultant/Researcher. Notable projects include:

  • Principal Investigator: Spearheading the project titled "Promoting Mathematics Teachers’ Understanding and Implementation of the Jigsaw Strategy in Teaching and Learning of Mathematics in Tanzania," sponsored by MUCE (2023-2024).

Co-Investigator: Collaborating on the project endeavoring to "Enhance the Use of ICT Among Mathematics Teachers to Elevate Student Academic Performance in Tanzanian Secondary Schools," generously sponsored by MUCE (2023-2024).
