Welcome and Farewell Celebration for the College Principal

April 1, 2025, 08:00–10:00

On the bright morning of April 1, 2025, our College management gathered at CDF SR 2 to celebrate a significant transition: bidding farewell to our outgoing Acting Principal, Prof. Deusdedit A. Rwehumbiza, and officially welcoming Prof. Method Samwel Semiono as the new College Principal.

During the event, the Outgoing Deputy Principal (Academic, Research, and Consultancy), Dr. Orestes Kapinga, took the stage to introduce the MUCE Management Team. This gave attendees the chance to recognize the individuals who had steered the College and to note the new leadership transitions taking place. Thereafter, the Outgoing Acting Principal, Prof. Deusdedit A. Rwehumbiza, formally addressed the audience, reflecting on the highlights and achievements of his term. He expressed gratitude for the support he received and then symbolically handed over responsibilities to Prof. Semiono, a moment marked by applause and celebration. Taking the podium for the first time as Principal, Prof. Semiono delivered his vision for the College’s future.

In a heartfelt display of fellowship, token gifts were exchanged between the outgoing leadership and the new College Principal. This gesture signified the continuity of goodwill and collaborative spirit that defines our college.

A New Chapter Begins

Although the event lasted just two hours, its impact will resonate long after the celebration. Attendees left the venue with renewed enthusiasm and a shared commitment to uphold our College’s tradition of excellence. Prof. Method Samwel Semiono’s inspiring words and approachable leadership style set the stage for a dynamic new era—one that combines respect for the contributions of outgoing leaders with a forward-looking vision for our academic community.

We look forward to the journey ahead under Prof. Semiono’s guidance and remain grateful for the service of those who paved the way for his leadership.
