MUCE Indeed Did a Wonderful Job at the 9th UDSM Research and Innovation Week at the University Level

Secured a Distinguished Innovator position, placed third in UDSM's Best Multidisciplinary Project, second in Best Postgraduate Innovation, and had two staff members recognized among UDSM's top 47 for high-impact publications.

MUCE has once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence at the University of Dar es Salaam Research and Innovation Week, which in this year, this event was held from 5th to 7th June 2024, at the at the University of Dar es Salaam, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Campus.

Award-Winning Projects and Innovations

MUCE's commitment to excellence was  demonstrated in various competitive project categories:

  • Distinguished Innovator of the Year: Dr. Jovine Emmanuel was awarded the title of Distinguished Innovator of the Year.

  • Best Multidisciplinary Project: Dr. Japhace Poncian secured third place in this category.

  • Best Postgraduate Innovation: Mr. Iman Macha earned second place in this highly competitive category.

  • High-Impact Publications Recognition

  • Among the best 47 academic staff members with high impact publications at UDSM over the past year, two MUCE members, Dr. Herieth Mero and Dr. Joshua Mwasunda, each with two publications, emerged as winners.

Alongside the other winners, we extend our congratulations to our staff member, Mr Cosmas Kindole, who secured first place in the Best Postgraduate Innovation category. Mr. Kindole is currently pursuing his PhD in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at UDSM, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Campus.
