The programme produces graduates with a wide range of skills and knowledge of chemical principles. Graduates will possess a deep understanding of chemistry, enabling them to conduct research, teach, and apply their knowledge effectively. They will bridge the gap between academia, research, and industry, with the ability to manage chemical systems in various settings. Graduates will also apply their knowledge to address societal challenges, stay updated with emerging techniques, and have the expertise to establish and manage businesses in the chemical and related industries, demonstrating comprehensive competencies in this field.

Requirements

Entry requirements: Candidates with Form VI combinations of PCM, PCB, CBG, CBA, and CBN are eligible for this programme. They are required to have Principal level passes in Chemistry at the Advanced Level, and in addition, applicants must hold passes in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics at the O' Level. The Minimum Admission Points for Form VI is established at 4 points from 2 subjects, with grading criteria as follows: A = 5, B = 4, C = 3, D = 2, E = 1, and S = 0.5. As an Equivalent Entry Qualification, candidates can hold a Diploma in Chemistry and related fields with at least an upper second-class award (GPA of at least 3.5 out of 5) from a recognized college as approved by the UDSM Senate. These requirements ensure that candidates have the necessary qualifications to excel in the program with a strong foundation in Chemistry.
