International Research Collaboration at MUCE

📍 Department of Biological Sciences | Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE)

Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) is proud to host Joel Elkin, a PhD student from the Department of Zoology, University of Cambridge, who is currently engaging with our MSc students in the Department of Biological Sciences through a hands-on training on genetic analysis methods.

This specialized training is supported by the prestigious Cambridge-Africa Alborada Seed Fund, awarded to Dr. Emilia Santos (University of Cambridge) in partnership with Dr. Edson Ishengoma (MUCE). The collaborative initiative aims to promote equitable North–South research partnerships through co-creation and co-implementation of research activities across various stages of the research life cycle.

The presence of Joel Elkin at MUCE reflects the College’s commitment to global research engagement and capacity building, empowering students with advanced scientific techniques and fostering academic exchange between institutions in the Global North and Global South.

We are excited about this growing collaboration and look forward to more impactful partnerships in research and innovation.
