Construction of Student Hostels

"Construction of Students Hostels at MUCE"

We are excited to announce the commencement of a significant construction project for new student hostels. This initiative is funded through a combination of development project funds from the government and internally generated revenue. The project includes the construction of two hostel blocks with a total of four floors, each covers a total area of 2,850.50 square meters per block, and can will accommodate 276 students at a time.

Each hostel block is designed to provide ample living space, ensuring comfort for all residents. The hostels will be equipped with contemporary facilities to enhance the living experience, including study areas, and common lounges.

The new hostels will offer a comfortable and conducive environment for students to live and study. They are located within the College premises, which provide easy access to academic buildings, libraries, and recreational facilities. We look forward to welcoming students to these new facilities and enhancing their college experience.

Leo tarehe 16 Oktoba 2024, Chuo Kishiriki cha Elimu Mkwawa (MUCE) kimefanya kikao cha kwanza (kick off Meeting) cha Mradi wa Elimu ya Juu ya Mageuzi ya Kiuchumi (HEET) kilichowakutanisha Chuo, kama Mteja (client), Mkandarasi, na Mshauri Mwelekezi wa Mradi wa HEET. Lengo kuu la kikao hicho ni kupata mwelekezo wa utekelezaji wa mradi mzima kwenye ujenzi wa majengo. MUCE, kupitia Mradi wa HEET, inajenga majengo manne: Hosteli ya Wanafunzi, Maabara ya Fizikia, Jengo la Midi Anuai na Elimu Maalum pamoja na Jengo la Sayansi.

On September 27th, Dr. Kennedy Hosea, the National Coordinator of the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) Project, visited Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) to assess the progress of the project’s implementation. In his opening remarks, the College Principal, Prof. Deusdedit Rwehumbiza, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Hosea for making time to visit the institution and witness the project, which has currently reached 3% completion.

Gender Sensitization: A call to stop gender-based violence and enhance workplace safety

In a bid to foster a culture of gender equality and safety within the academic environment, the Diversity Unit of Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) organized a capacity-building seminar on Gender Sensitization for its staff held on 16th June 2024. The seminar was a platform for the participants to discuss critical issues surrounding gender-based violence and workplace safety. The event was attended by staff members from various departments at MUCE.

Enhancing Guidance and Counseling Skills to Foster a Supportive and Inclusive Learning Environment

On March 13, 2024, our College hosted an inspiring seminar dedicated to raising awareness about the crucial guidance and counseling services available to our students and staff. This enlightening event was generously funded by the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) project.
