Dr. Nabwera Rashid Leads Workshop in Arusha

Dr. Nabwera Rashid, a scholar in psychology from the Faculty of Education at Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE), recently led an impactful workshop on Women and Children’s Mental Health Services in Arusha. Organized by FIDE Entertainment Company, this workshop took place on September 14, 2024, and brought together participants from various sectors.

Leo tarehe 16 Oktoba 2024, Chuo Kishiriki cha Elimu Mkwawa (MUCE) kimefanya kikao cha kwanza (kick off Meeting) cha Mradi wa Elimu ya Juu ya Mageuzi ya Kiuchumi (HEET) kilichowakutanisha Chuo, kama Mteja (client), Mkandarasi, na Mshauri Mwelekezi wa Mradi wa HEET. Lengo kuu la kikao hicho ni kupata mwelekezo wa utekelezaji wa mradi mzima kwenye ujenzi wa majengo. MUCE, kupitia Mradi wa HEET, inajenga majengo manne: Hosteli ya Wanafunzi, Maabara ya Fizikia, Jengo la Midi Anuai na Elimu Maalum pamoja na Jengo la Sayansi.

New Heads of Department

This significant achievement not only reflects her hard work and dedication but also marks an exciting new chapter as she joins the Executive Management Team of TCU.

MUCE Hosts the 2nd International Conference on Education

Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) successfully hosted the 2nd International Conference on Education, organized by its Faculty of Education. The event, which brought together scholars, educators, and stakeholders in the education sector, took place from 3rd to 4th October 2023 at the MUCE campus in Iringa, Tanzania.

Visitation of the HEET Project at MUCE

On September 27th, Dr. Kennedy Hosea, the National Coordinator of the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) Project, visited Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) to assess the progress of the project’s implementation. In his opening remarks, the College Principal, Prof. Deusdedit Rwehumbiza, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Hosea for making time to visit the institution and witness the project, which has currently reached 3% completion.

HEET Contract Signing Ceremony

On August 31, 2024, a significant milestone was reached at Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) with the signing ceremony for the construction of four new buildings under the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) Project, funded by the World Bank through the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology. The buildings include:

MUCE Hosts Prof. Angel Ford from the University of Albany

MUCE welcomed Prof. Angel Ford, a distinguished researcher from the University of Albany, USA. Prof. Ford, who is an academic staff member and Director of the Global Epistemic Justice Lab in the Department of Information Sciences and Technology at the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security, and Cybersecurity (CEHC), visited MUCE from 25 to 30 July 2024. Her visit aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration in research, exchange programmes, and joint courses between the two institutions.

Award-winning researcher Dr. Geofrey Wingi Sikazwe recognized for contributions to ecology

Dr. Geofrey Wingi Sikazwe, a lecturer at MUCE, has been awarded the International Environmental Scientists Award for Best Researcher in Mathematical Modelling in Ecology. The International Environmental Scientists Award is a premier global event in the realm of research, innovation, and collaboration, which aims to share ideas with a global community of researchers, scientists, and professionals passionate about advancing International Environmental Scientists.

MUCE Researchers Secure Erasmus Edu 2023 Consultancy Project

Four distinguished researchers from MUCE have won a prestigious consultancy project funded by Erasmus Edu 2023. The project, titled "Fostering Occupational Health and Safety Competences and Skills Growth for Sustainable Jobs in the Sub-Saharan African Region (FOCUS)," aims to enhance workplace safety and skill development in the region.
