TEACHING PRACTICE UNIT

"Shaping Future Educators through Practical Experience"

At MUCE, our programmes blend classroom-based education with essential field experience, referred to as Teaching Practice (TP) or Practical Training (PT). TP is conducted by students pursuing education programmes, while PT is for students in other programmes, in which at MUCE it is the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.

The department is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching and learning and fostering cutting edge research and discovery in undergraduate and postgraduate studies. With a diverse and specialised area of competency among course instructors, the department offers courses in human and physical geography, and microeconomics and macroeconomics. The department is also well equipped with teaching and learning facilities to offer practical oriented knowledge and skills. The available facilities include:

Key Elements of Teaching Practice:

  • Compulsory Course: All students in our programmes must complete TP/PT.
  • Structured Programme: TP/PT is designed to develop and assess students' competence in real-world settings.
  • Professional Growth: TP/PT is a vital component for students' professional development.

The TP/PT Coordinator’s office at MUCE oversees all aspects of the programme, ensuring efficient and effective coordination. Each year, students engage in TP/PT across the country, guided by regional coordinators and supervisors who provide assessment and support.
