Biography

Ms. Byerengo is an accomplished academic and researcher specializing in Educational Management, Leadership, and Policy. Currently an Assistant Lecturer at Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE), she brings a wealth of experience in pedagogical training, project coordination, and international research collaboration.

Prior to joining MUCE, she served as an Assistant Lecturer and Coordinator at Saint Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT). There, she spearheaded the Girls’ Leadership & Empowerment Project, a multi-regional initiative across the Lake Zone funded by the University of Windsor and the Rotary Club of Windsor-Canada. Her leadership in this role empowered over 300 girls in STEM and leadership while addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention. She also served as the Assistant Head of the Micro-teaching Practicum Unit, where she supervised the development of competency-based teaching skills for pre-service teachers.

A distinguished DAAD Scholar, Ms. Byerengo has engaged in high-level international training across Germany, India, and Kenya, focusing on global health advocacy, research ethics, and inclusive education. Beyond her academic role, she is the Executive Chairperson of the NGO Binti Inuka (Girl Rise), demonstrating her deep-seated commitment to gender equity and educational access for young women.

Coordinator & Facilitator (Girls’ Leadership & Empowerment Project) | March 2022 – Sept 2025 at Saint Augustine University of Tanzania
Led a multi-regional project in  Lake Zone, Tanzania, empowering 300 girls in leadership, GBV prevention, and STEM.
