MUCE Celebrates 2025 Chinese Language International Day
On 12th April 2025, Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) hosted the Chinese Language International Day, a vibrant celebration of Chinese culture and language. This event, prepared by the Confucius Institute at MUCE, was marked by a series of engaging activities, including performances and speeches, designed to highlight the significance of the Chinese language and foster cultural exchange.
The day began with welcoming remarks from the Principal of MUCE, who expressed the importance of language learning in promoting international understanding. The audience then heard from Dr. Mussa M. Hans, the Appointed Co-Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), who shared his insights on the growing importance of Chinese language education.
Prof. Zhang, the Director of the Confucius Institute, delivered an inspiring Chinese Day and Chinese Bridge speech, setting the tone for the event. This was followed by a group photo, capturing the spirit of the gathering.
The highlight of the event was the performance session by Chinese language students at MUCE. The students showcased their language skills and cultural talents, with impressive performances that captivated the audience. As the performances concluded, Prof. Zhang presented awards to the outstanding competitors, acknowledging their dedication and achievements in Chinese language studies.
The Chinese Language International Day at MUCE served as a platform for students and staff to engage with Chinese language and culture, strengthening the bonds between Africa and China and fostering a deeper understanding of global languages and traditions.
