General Information

Introduction

MUCE Health Centre was established by Mkwawa University College of Education aiming at providing health services to college Community and surroundings population.

Its among four (4) health centre is Iringa Municipal with registration number 116211. The centre saves a population of around fifty thousand people which include students, staff and surroundings community. It operates for twenty four (24) hours.

It has various units which are led by qualified staff including;

  1. Outpatient and Emergency Unit
  2. Impatient Unit
  3. Reproductive and Child Health Unit (RCH)
  4. Pharmacy
  5. Laboratory
  6. Voluntary and Counseling Unit (VCT)
  7. Care and Treatment Clinic (CTC)
  8. Sexual Reproductive Health Unit

Bed Capacity

The inpatient unit consists of male, female and private wards with total bed occupancy of fourty two (42) beds.

SERVICES OFFERED

MUCE Health centre provide both curative and preventive services to students staff and people from surrounding community. The centre has been accredited by National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) to provide treatment to NHIF beneficiaries since 2009. The total OPD attendance is around sixty (60) patients per day. The following services are available at our centre

  1. Treatment of communicable and non-communicable diseases
  2. Treatment of medical and obstetric emergencies
  3. Voluntary counseling and Testing (VCT)
  4. RCH services
  5. CTC services
  6. Sexual Reproductive Health activities to youth
  7. Delivery services
  8. Minor surgeries
  9. Laboratory diagnostic services

Students Bylaws
