Biography

Moses Titus Mashala joined Mkwawa University College of Education on 1st June 2015. He is currently working as a students’ loans officer in the Directorate of Undergraduate Studies. Among other duties, he is a custodian of loans disbursed by the Government to needy and eligible beneficiaries to cater for their higher Education. Before his current position, Mashala served in different clerical and administrative positions in the same Directorate, to wit; as Office Assistant II, Admission and Examination Officer. 

Mashala embraces diversity in training and knowledge acquisition. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Open University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Dar es Salaam. He is currently pursuing a Master of Laws in Human Rights Laws at Ruaha Catholic University.

Since his first employment at MUCE, Mashala has received various awards including the Best Worker among the Office Assistants during the 2015/2016 academic year, Best Worker in the Admission and Examination Office during the 2020/2021 academic year and Best Worker in the Directorate of Undergraduate Studies during the 2021/2022 academic year. His most current recognition features an award from the Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) for outstanding performance and unwavering dedication in the management of students’ Loans at the College during the 2022/2023 academic year.

Mashala has been actively engaged in nearly all missions undertaken both by the Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) and the Zanzibar Higher Education Loans Board (ZHELB). Currently, he is enthusiastically participating in the mammoth transformation of the loan disbursement mechanism spearheaded by HESLB from paper-based payouts to the New Digital Disbursement Solutions (DiDiS), since its adoption in the 2020/2021 academic year.

Meanwhile, Mashala has yet to publish an academic paper but researched on his LL.B dissertation titled; Efficacy of the General University Rules and Regulations in Maintaining Integrity and Quality of Higher Education: A Case Study from Selected Universities in Tanzania.
