Prof. Daniel Mushi Visits MUCE to Observe Progress on Development Projects

January 11, 2024 – Prof. Daniel Mushi, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Science, Technology, and Higher Education at the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, conducted a visit to Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) to assess the progress of various construction projects, including the ones funded by the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) Project.

During his visit, Prof. Mushi met with the College leadership team, led by Acting Principal Prof. Deusdedit A. Rwehumbiza, who provided a comprehensive update on the College’s overall progress, achievements, and challenges.

Following the briefing, Prof. Mushi, accompanied by the MUCE-HEET project coordinators and other stakeholders, toured ongoing construction projects funded by the HEET initiative. These include:

  • Student Hostel

  • Physics Laboratory

  • Multimedia and Special Needs Education Building

  • Science Building

He also inspected projects financed by MUCE internal revenue and government development funds, such as:

  • Two Additional Student Hostels

  • The College Library

Prof. Mushi commended MUCE for its dedication to managing and implementing these projects effectively. However, he emphasized the importance of adhering to all contractual agreements, including ensuring the safety of workers involved in construction activities.
The visit concluded with a brief meeting to outline actionable resolutions from the discussions held.
MUCE expresses its gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology for its continued collaboration and support in implementing various development projects at the College.
